PORCELAIN VENEERS

Dental veneers are contact lens like thin shells of tooth-like ceramic material. They are applied to the surface of a tooth to cover worn, uneven, misaligned teeth or to correct spacing, chips or cracks. Dental veneers are considered cosmetic dentistry. They quickly and easily create a white, beautifully aligned smile. Their translucent ceramic quality gives your new smile a natural healthy appearance solving many cosmetic dental issues.

Worn enamel: Over time, tooth enamel may become worn or discolored. Wear and discoloration can occurs naturally or they can result from your lifestyle; soft drinks, tea, or coffee – smoking, or the use of medication.

Teeth naturally wear as you age. As you age your teeth are more likely to develop chips or cracks and they can develop an uneven appearance.

Uneven teeth: An uneven appearance can develop over time as a result of grinding or general wear.

Dental veneers are most commonly made from composite resin or porcelain. A dental technician in a dental laboratory fabricates both types of porcelain veneers.

Veneers or Bonding? Bonding restores chipped or cracked teeth. A composite resin is bonded to the tooth structure to fill in chips or cracks and protect tooth structure. However, for more extensive cases of tooth wear, discoloration, chipping, cracking, spacing, or uneven teeth, dental veneers may be suggested as an alternative solution.

Restorative Benefit: Dental veneers create a beautifully white smile and they can also protect the surface of a damaged tooth. Dental veneers are contact lens thin and often require little or no tooth reshaping before being bonded onto the tooth. And, once bonded into place, dental veneers are strong and durable.
